Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites with an electric mixer until frothy, then increase speed to high and whip until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, continuing to whip until stiff peaks and glossy texture is achieved.
- Gently fold in the vanilla extract and green food coloring until uniformly mixed.
- Using a piping bag, pipe tree shapes onto the lined baking sheets.
- Sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top as ornaments while the meringue is still wet.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until the cookies are completely dry, do not increase oven temperature.
- Turn off the oven and let cool inside for another hour before gently peeling off the parchment paper.
