Description

Delicious bite-sized stuffing balls that capture the festive flavors of traditional Thanksgiving stuffing, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups cubed bread (mixed white and whole grain)
  • 2-3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (or olive oil)
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • A mix of dried thyme, sage, and rosemary
  • 2 large eggs (or flax egg as substitute)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and toast the bread on a baking sheet for 10 minutes until slightly golden.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet, add chopped onion and celery, and sauté until soft (5-7 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, and season with salt and pepper. Add eggs and enough broth for moistness.
  4. Scoop portions and shape into golf ball-sized balls. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, turning halfway for even cooking.
  6. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize with cooked sausage, nuts, or dried cranberries for extra flavor and texture.
