Description

Delicious Sourdough Monkey Bread made with fluffy dough balls coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Sourdough Starter
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 large Egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sourdough starter, melted butter, sugar, milk, and egg. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour your countertop and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
  6. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Once risen, punch down the dough, break into small pieces, and roll each into a ball, coating in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place the coated balls in a greased bundt pan.
  9. Cover the pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before turning out onto a plate. Serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; store leftovers in an airtight container for a couple of days or freeze for up to a month. Pair with caramel sauce or powdered sugar.
