- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Fold in the pecans.
- Remove the crust from the oven and pour the pecan mixture over it.
- Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, until the filling is set and slightly bubbly.
- Let bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
Toast the pecans for enhanced flavor. Use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
