Description

A sweet and gooey dessert that combines the flavors of classic pecan pie in an easy-to-eat bar form, perfect for gatherings or as a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Fold in the pecans.
  4. Remove the crust from the oven and pour the pecan mixture over it.
  5. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, until the filling is set and slightly bubbly.
  6. Let bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Toast the pecans for enhanced flavor. Use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
