Description

A quick and easy focaccia recipe that can be made in a single day, resulting in a fluffy and delicious Italian flatbread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Sea Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Warm Water (around 110°F)
  • ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (divided)
  • Toppings (optional): rosemary, garlic, cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast. Whisk to combine.
  2. Slowly pour in warm water and half of your olive oil. Mix until no dry flour remains.
  3. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Gently press the dough into a greased baking pan, forming dimples on the surface.
  6. Cover the pan and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Once risen, drizzle the remaining olive oil over the dough and add your toppings.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and edges are crispy.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use good quality olive oil for best flavor. Don’t rush the rising process for optimal texture.
