- 6 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- ¾ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup melted butter
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually stir in the melted butter and milk until you have a thick batter.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased baking dish. Spoon the topping over the apples, covering them evenly.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Try serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. You can also add raisins or nuts to the apple filling for extra flavor.
