A delightful fusion of crispy chicken coated in a sweet honey glaze with a spicy kick, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh herbs (parsley or chives), chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Set up a dredging station: In one bowl, beat the eggs; in another, mix the flour and cornstarch.
- Coat each piece of chicken in the egg, then in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully covered.
- Heat about an inch of oil in a large pan over medium heat until hot.
- Fry the chicken in batches for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- To make the hot honey glaze, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in honey and hot sauce until combined and heated through.
- Once the chicken is fried, immediately toss it in the hot honey glaze.
- Transfer the glazed chicken to a platter, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve.
Notes
For an extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in the egg and flour mixture. Use a thermometer for oil to maintain around 350°F.
