Description

A comforting classic made with layers of gooey cheese, savory meat, and rich tomato sauce. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
  • 1 pound ground beef or sausage
  • 24 oz tomato sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Fresh herbs (basil or parsley)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with an egg, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until ingredients are finished, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
  7. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Don’t overcook your noodles. Use quality ingredients for the best flavor. Lasagna freezes well for future meals.
