- Lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
- 1 pound ground beef or sausage
- 24 oz tomato sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh herbs (basil or parsley)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with an egg, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
- In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until ingredients are finished, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
- Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
