Description

A delightful Greek dessert that combines the sweetness of honey, creamy cheese, and flaky pastry, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 5-6 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lay out phyllo sheets in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, Greek yogurt, honey, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Pour the creamy filling over the layered phyllo pastry, spreading it evenly.
  5. Fold the edges of the phyllo dough over the filling and brush more butter on top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden and puffed, then let cool before cutting into squares.
  7. Drizzle extra honey on top before serving.

Notes

Thaw phyllo overnight in the fridge. Use plenty of butter for a crispy texture. Chill before serving for easier slicing.
