Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (ribeye or sirloin preferred)
- 2-3 large Yukon Gold potatoes, sliced thin
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika

Instructions
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter, and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add 3 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, and paprika. Sizzle for a minute.
- While the garlic butter is cooking, slice the potatoes thinly for even cooking.
- In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, drizzle with garlic butter, top with chunks of steak, and sprinkle generously with cheese.
- Pour the heavy cream evenly over the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until tender and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
