Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out slightly moist.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before frosting.
  8. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, a splash of milk, and optional food coloring until smooth.
  9. Once cooled, frost the brownies generously and let the frosting set before cutting into squares.
