Description

A delightful dessert combining juicy apple slices with a sweet, crumbly topping, reminiscent of cozy fall days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix your sliced apples with half the sugar (½ cup) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining sugar (½ cup), cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well, then add softened butter and blend until crumbly.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer apple mixture at the bottom and spread crumb topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until apples are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, preferably warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
