- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix your sliced apples with half the sugar (½ cup) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining sugar (½ cup), cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well, then add softened butter and blend until crumbly.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer apple mixture at the bottom and spread crumb topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until apples are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving, preferably warm with a scoop of ice cream.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
