Description

Delicious, crispy cheese sticks made by breading and baking or frying cheese for a quick snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • String cheese or mozzarella sticks
  • Flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 Eggs (or flaxseed egg for vegan option)
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs (plain, seasoned, panko, or crushed cornflakes)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian herbs (to taste)


Instructions

  1. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  2. Roll each cheese stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Freeze the breaded cheese sticks on a baking sheet for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy, or fry in oil until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool slightly, then serve with desired dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, freeze the cheese sticks before cooking to maintain their shape.
