Description

Beautifully decorated cookies perfect for sharing at Friendsgiving gatherings, combining creativity and deliciousness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar or light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Royal icing ingredients: powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Dust a surface with flour and roll the chilled dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  8. Cut cookies using cookie cutters and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just golden; let cool.
  10. Decorate with royal icing and add any desired sprinkles.

Notes

Chill the dough to prevent spreading. Let the icing dry completely before stacking cookies.
