  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (optional)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut your chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Coat the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk the egg, toss in the chicken pieces, and then sprinkle with cornstarch, mixing until well-coated.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a skillet or wok, heat about an inch of oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the Chicken: Place the coated chicken into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
  5. Make the Sauce: In another pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, and ginger over medium heat, stirring until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Combine and Serve: Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until coated and serve immediately, garnished with green onions.
