Description

A cozy dish that combines tender pasta, smoky sausage, and a rich, creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • Pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • Smoked Sausage (kielbasa or andouille)
  • Heavy Cream
  • Chicken Broth
  • Garlic (fresh cloves)
  • Onion (sweet)
  • Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated)
  • Spinach or Kale
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in boiling water with a pinch of salt according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Slice the smoked sausage and add it to the pan, cooking until crispy and golden.
  3. Add chopped garlic and onion to the sausage, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, bring to a low simmer, then mix in the grated parmesan cheese and stir until smooth.
  5. Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water. Add the pasta to the skillet with leafy greens, tossing everything together. If desired, add reserved pasta water for extra creaminess.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs to taste. Serve immediately with extra parmesan on top.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of cream or add veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms for added flavor.
