Description
A comforting blend of cinnamon rolls and bread pudding, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- Cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1 cup heavy cream (or more milk)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (or almond extract)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the cinnamon rolls into small chunks and place them in a greased baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the cinnamon roll chunks, ensuring every piece is soaked. Give it a gentle toss if needed.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set. Test it by inserting a knife; it should come out clean.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use stale bread. Customize your mix-ins with nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits. Letting the mixture sit for 15 minutes before baking enhances flavor.
