Description

Delightfully soft and chewy sugar cookie bars, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Optional Toppings: Sprinkles, icing, or chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a larger bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown around the edges.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and optionally topping with frosting or sprinkles.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for the best texture. Don’t overmix the dough, and check for doneness with a toothpick.
