Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed hard candies (e.g., Jolly Ranchers or Life Savers)


Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolk and vanilla, and mix well.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms. If too crumbly, add a teaspoon of water until it comes together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Use cookie cutters to create shapes, then use a smaller cutter to cut out the centers.
  7. Fill each center with crushed hard candies.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely before transferring to a wire rack.
