Description
Rich, fudgy brownies topped with colorful frosting, perfect for the holiday season.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- Food coloring (for frosting)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat them together until creamy and smooth.
- Mix in the eggs, one at a time, and stir in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Spread the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan before frosting.
Notes
Use high-quality cocoa powder for the richest flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies soft and chewy. Let cool completely before frosting.
