- 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups Mixed Dried Fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
- 3/4 cup Sugar (brown sugar recommended)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 tbsp Butter (unsalted)
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Mix the Flour and Butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Water gradually until dough forms, then chill for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine Dried Fruits, Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Cornstarch.
- Melt the Butter and stir into the fruit mixture; then add Vanilla Extract.
- Roll out the chilled Dough and fit it into a pie dish, leaving an overhang.
- Pour the Fruit Mixture into the prepared crust and spread evenly.
- Top with additional crust or create a lattice top, sealing the edges.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Serve the pie warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Drizzle with caramel for an extra treat.
