Description

A delightful holiday pie bursting with sweet fruits and warm spices, perfect for Christmas celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups Mixed Dried Fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar (brown sugar recommended)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp Butter (unsalted)
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract


Instructions

  1. Mix the Flour and Butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add Water gradually until dough forms, then chill for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine Dried Fruits, Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Cornstarch.
  4. Melt the Butter and stir into the fruit mixture; then add Vanilla Extract.
  5. Roll out the chilled Dough and fit it into a pie dish, leaving an overhang.
  6. Pour the Fruit Mixture into the prepared crust and spread evenly.
  7. Top with additional crust or create a lattice top, sealing the edges.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve the pie warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Drizzle with caramel for an extra treat.
