Instructions
- Prepare your baking sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift the dry ingredients: Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
- Whip the egg whites: Whisk egg whites until frothy and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form (5-7 minutes).
- Add food coloring: Fold in gel food coloring until evenly mixed.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gently fold in almond flour mixture a third at a time.
- Pipe the macarons: Transfer batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the baking sheets.
- Let them rest: Allow piped macarons to sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake for about 12 minutes.
- Cool and fill: Let the macarons cool completely, then fill and sandwich together.
