Description

Delightful French macarons with a festive holiday twist, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Food coloring (gel)
  • Filling of your choice (buttercream, ganache, or jams)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift the dry ingredients: Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. Whip the egg whites: Whisk egg whites until frothy and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form (5-7 minutes).
  4. Add food coloring: Fold in gel food coloring until evenly mixed.
  5. Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gently fold in almond flour mixture a third at a time.
  6. Pipe the macarons: Transfer batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the baking sheets.
  7. Let them rest: Allow piped macarons to sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake for about 12 minutes.
  9. Cool and fill: Let the macarons cool completely, then fill and sandwich together.

Notes

Make sure to let the macarons rest before baking to prevent cracking.
