Description
Christmas Crack is a delightful holiday treat made with saltine crackers layered with buttery toffee and topped with chocolate and optional toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in an even layer.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Let it boil for about 3 minutes without stirring.
- Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, covering them well.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, until the toffee bubbles over the crackers.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a couple of minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle any desired toppings on the warm chocolate.
- Let cool for at least 2 hours, then break into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, use fresh saltine crackers, allow the toffee to boil fully, and store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
