Description

Christmas Crack is a delightful holiday treat made with saltine crackers layered with buttery toffee and topped with chocolate and optional toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in an even layer.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Let it boil for about 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, covering them well.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, until the toffee bubbles over the crackers.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a couple of minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  7. Sprinkle any desired toppings on the warm chocolate.
  8. Let cool for at least 2 hours, then break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use fresh saltine crackers, allow the toffee to boil fully, and store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
