Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup mixed nuts, chopped
  • ½ cup dried fruit, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually stir into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and dried fruit gently.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. For gluten-free, use almond flour instead of all-purpose flour.
