Description

Soft and chewy cookies topped with melted Hershey’s Kisses, perfect for any chocolate lover.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Hershey’s Kisses, for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them into smooth balls, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes; they should look slightly underbaked in the middle.
  8. Press a Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. These cookies can also be frozen—allow to cool completely before storing.
