Description

A comforting one-pan dish featuring juicy steak, vibrant veggies, and gooey cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 cup cheese (provolone or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Slice your steak into thin strips. Chop the bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and set everything aside.
  2. Cook the steak: In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak strips. Sear for about 3-4 minutes until nicely browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Toss in the chopped onion and bell peppers. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until soft. Add the minced garlic and stir for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Season: Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the veggies, then return the steak to the pan. Stir everything together to coat and heat through.
  5. Melt the cheese: Add the cheese on top, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve: Once melty and gooey, serve your Cheese Steak Fajita Skillet hot from the skillet. Enjoy straight away!

Notes

Slice steak against the grain for tenderness. Mix colorful veggies for a visually appealing dish. Covering the skillet helps melt the cheese beautifully.
