Description

A delightful fusion of flaky croissants and chewy cookie bars with a touch of almond flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark or milk)
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then mix in the sugars until fluffy.
  4. Incorporate each egg one at a time and then add the almond extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until well combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and sliced almonds gently with a spatula.
  7. Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

For added richness, serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
