- Day-old bread (brioche or challah)
- Mixed berries (fresh or thawed frozen)
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Tear the bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a separate bowl until well-blended.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread and gently fold in the mixed berries. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Grease a baking dish with butter, then pour the mixture in and spread evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown on top and set in the middle.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
