Description

Very Berry Bread Pudding is a delicious dessert made from cubes of bread soaked in a custard mixture, jazzed up with fresh mixed berries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups day-old brioche or challah, torn into pieces
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Tear the bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Toss the mixed berries over the bread.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for 15-20 minutes to soak into the bread.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and slightly puffed.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and top with powdered sugar or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
