Ingredients
- Day-old bread (brioche or challah)
- Mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- Large eggs
- Whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- Heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- Granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- Vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Tear the bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Toss the mixed berries over the bread, spreading them evenly.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth, then pour over the bread and berries.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 15-20 minutes.
- Bake for about 30-40 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
