Description
Delightfully crisp yet chewy vanilla macarons filled with creamy goodness, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites, room temperature
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently mix in vanilla extract and food coloring if using.
- Carefully fold the dry ingredients into the meringue until just combined.
- Pipe small circles of batter onto the lined sheets, leaving space between them, and tap the trays to release air bubbles.
- Let the macarons rest at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until they rise and form a crisp shell, then cool completely before filling.
Notes
Use room temperature egg whites for better meringue. Make sure to rest the macarons before baking for the perfect texture.
