- 1 package gnocchi
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage (or turkey/plant-based alternative)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in ground beef or sausage and cook until browned and cooked through; drain excess fat.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix the cooked gnocchi into the bolognese sauce until fully coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding chopped spinach or mushrooms, or use homemade gnocchi for a special touch.
