Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and slice the strawberries, toss with sugar, and let them sit.
- Make the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream together butter and sugar, then mix in milk and vanilla.
- Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
- Bake: Pour batter into a greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
- Whip the Cream: Combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla, then beat until soft peaks form.
- Assemble: Slice the cake into layers, adding strawberries and whipped cream between layers.
- Serve: Top with remaining whipped cream and strawberries for garnish.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a fun twist.
