Description

A delightful summer dessert featuring layers of soft cake, juicy strawberries, and whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for cream)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and slice the strawberries, toss with sugar, and let them sit.
  2. Make the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream together butter and sugar, then mix in milk and vanilla.
  3. Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Bake: Pour batter into a greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  5. Whip the Cream: Combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla, then beat until soft peaks form.
  6. Assemble: Slice the cake into layers, adding strawberries and whipped cream between layers.
  7. Serve: Top with remaining whipped cream and strawberries for garnish.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a fun twist.
