Description

Delightful soft maple cookies topped with a rich brown butter icing, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for icing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  4. Cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly golden but soft to the touch.
  9. For the icing, brown butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Then whisk in powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  10. Top each cooled cookie with icing.

Notes

For thicker icing, add more powdered sugar. Chill the dough for uniform cookies.
