Description

These soft baked maple donut bars are easy to make and provide a delightful cake-like texture with the rich flavor of maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, or coconut oil for dairy-free)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and maple syrup, mixing until combined.
  4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter into the greased baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let them cool slightly in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack and drizzle with more maple syrup.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute eggs with a flax egg. They can also be made gluten-free with a suitable flour blend.
