These soft baked maple donut bars are easy to make and provide a delightful cake-like texture with the rich flavor of maple syrup.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, or coconut oil for dairy-free)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and maple syrup, mixing until combined.
- Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Transfer the batter into the greased baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let them cool slightly in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack and drizzle with more maple syrup.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute eggs with a flax egg. They can also be made gluten-free with a suitable flour blend.
