Description

Cozy and comforting soft-baked apple cinnamon rolls filled with caramelized apples and cinnamon, topped with cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) of refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and lemon juice if using. Mix until apples are coated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough onto a floured surface and stretch it into a rectangle.
  4. Spread the apple filling over the dough, leaving a small border.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from one end to form a log and slice into 8 equal pieces.
  6. Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While they bake, prepare the cream cheese frosting by whisking together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Once the rolls are baked, drizzle warm cream cheese frosting over the top and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegan option, swap the dairy with plant-based alternatives. You can also use other fruits like pears or berries for a twist.
