Description
Cozy and comforting soft-baked apple cinnamon rolls filled with caramelized apples and cinnamon, topped with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and lemon juice if using. Mix until apples are coated.
- Unroll the crescent dough onto a floured surface and stretch it into a rectangle.
- Spread the apple filling over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to form a log and slice into 8 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While they bake, prepare the cream cheese frosting by whisking together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once the rolls are baked, drizzle warm cream cheese frosting over the top and enjoy!
Notes
For a vegan option, swap the dairy with plant-based alternatives. You can also use other fruits like pears or berries for a twist.
