Description
Deliciously soft and chewy pretzel bites, perfect for snacking and dipping!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water with yeast and brown sugar. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, add flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour until it doubles in size.
- Punch down the dough, roll it into ropes approximately 1 inch thick, and cut these ropes into bite-sized pieces.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil, stir in the baking soda, and drop in the bites in batches for about 30 seconds. Remove them carefully and let them drain on a paper towel.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place the bites on it, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden.
