Description

A comforting dish of tender chicken thighs braised in a rich gravy, perfect for cozy nights or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • Bone-in, Skin-on Chicken Thighs
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Chicken Broth
  • Butter
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Paprika
  • Bay Leaves

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove chicken and sauté chopped onion in the same skillet until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the onions, stir and gradually whisk in chicken broth, adding bay leaves and thyme; let simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return chicken thighs to the skillet, skin-side up, and simmer for 30-40 minutes until tender and cooked through.
  6. Remove bay leaves before serving and enjoy over rice, potatoes, or your favorite side.

Notes

For a bit of spice, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the flour. Leftovers taste even better the next day!
