Ingredients
- Bone-in, Skin-on Chicken Thighs
- Onion
- Garlic
- Chicken Broth
- Butter
- Flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- Thyme
- Paprika
- Bay Leaves
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side.
- Remove chicken and sauté chopped onion in the same skillet until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions, stir and gradually whisk in chicken broth, adding bay leaves and thyme; let simmer until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken thighs to the skillet, skin-side up, and simmer for 30-40 minutes until tender and cooked through.
- Remove bay leaves before serving and enjoy over rice, potatoes, or your favorite side.
Notes
For a bit of spice, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the flour. Leftovers taste even better the next day!
