Description

Spooky and delicious, these skeleton cupcakes are perfect for Halloween festivities or any playful gathering.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Black icing for decorating
  • Candy skeletons for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter until fluffy, then beat in the eggs one at a time. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
  5. Fill cupcake liners with the batter and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  6. Frost the cooled cupcakes with black icing and place candy skeletons on top for decoration.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for light and fluffy cupcakes. Chill frosting if too runny.
