Description

A delightful stir-fry featuring tender steak, colorful bell peppers, and onions, tossed in a savory sauce and served sizzling hot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (red, yellow, and green), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (canola or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and black pepper for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Slice the bell peppers and onions into strips.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add the marinated beef and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  5. Toss in the onions and bell peppers, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until veggies are tender but crisp.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan to thicken the sauce, stirring well.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil just before taking off the heat.
  8. Serve hot on a sizzling dish, optionally with rice or noodles.

Notes

Slice the beef against the grain for maximum tenderness. Preheat the pan for a perfect sear.
