Description

A heartwarming recipe for soft and fluffy sandwich bread, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm Water (around 110°F or 43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (melted)


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In another large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Add melted butter and stir until a dough begins to form.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the dough gently, shape it into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  7. Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Knead well for the best texture, and don’t rush the rising times. Store wrapped to maintain freshness.
