- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/2 cups Warm Water (around 110°F or 43°C)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (melted)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In another large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Add melted butter and stir until a dough begins to form.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough gently, shape it into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Knead well for the best texture, and don’t rush the rising times. Store wrapped to maintain freshness.
