Description

Delicious chocolate chip cookies enhanced with a sprinkle of sea salt for the perfect sweet-salty contrast.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt (plus more for sprinkling)
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet and dark)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Sprinkle a little extra sea salt on top of each cookie.
  9. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Do not overmix the dough for tender cookies. Chill the dough for thicker cookies if desired.
