Charming pastries filled with raspberry jam and shaped like sweet hearts, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out puff pastry sheets until about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut out heart shapes from the rolled pastry using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  4. Place a dollop of raspberry jam in the center of half of the hearts.
  5. Top with another heart pastry and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Whisk the egg and brush it over the top of each heart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and lightly golden.
  8. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make a glaze.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the Danishes once they are cooled slightly.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Chill the dough if it gets too warm. You can use different jams or chocolate fillings as variations.
