Description

A comforting Indian dish with a creamy, rich tomato-based gravy and tender chicken, perfect for a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 inch Ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, season with salt, and set aside.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until the onions are translucent.
  3. Cook Chicken: Increase the heat and add the chicken pieces. Sear until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Add Spices: Stir in the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in Tomato Puree: Pour in the tomato puree, and mix everything well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Creamy Finish: Lower the heat and gradually stir in the heavy cream. Allow it to simmer gently until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  7. Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. You can always add more spices or cream to suit your preference.
  8. Serve Up: Serve with warm naan bread or over rice. Enjoy!

Notes

Marinating chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours enhances the flavor. Adjust spice levels to taste, and consider adding vegetables for more nutrition.
