Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cardamom.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the fresh orange juice and zest, and blend until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
