- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough balls onto a lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for about 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
