Description

Delicious caramel apple pie bombs are sweet dough pockets filled with warm spiced apples and gooey caramel, perfect for dessert any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until apples are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in half the caramel sauce and set aside to cool.
  3. Roll out pie crust on a floured surface and cut into 4-5 inch circles.
  4. Spoon apple mixture into the center of each dough circle, then drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top.
  5. Fold dough over filling and pinch edges to seal. Brush tops with beaten egg.
  6. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve warm drizzled with additional caramel sauce.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat. Can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated.
