- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 whole eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a muffin tin with cooking spray or paper liners.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs and egg yolks one at a time, mixing until just incorporated.
- Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Slowly fold in the flour and baking powder until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full and bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Cool for a minute, then flip onto a plate and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For richer centers, chill the batter for about an hour before baking. Use quality chocolate for the best flavor.
