- Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons Butter (melted)
- 2 tablespoons Flour
- 1 Egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin slices.
- In a big bowl, toss the apple slices with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, and flour until well-coated.
- Roll out the crust on a floured surface and cut out circles about 4-5 inches in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press down the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Mix different types of apples for a more complex flavor. Let pies cool a bit before serving.
