- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans, chopped)
- 1 cup dried fruit or candy (raisins, cranberries, or M&Ms)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the oats, chocolate chips, nuts, and any extra mix-ins.
- Scoop dough onto a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden on the edges and slightly underbaked in the center.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Experiment with different mix-ins for varied flavors. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance the cookies’ texture.
